Reflection

Reflect on the class so far. What have you learned about American Literature? What do the books have in common? How are they different? What have you learned about writing? What are some of the things you would still like to learn?

Read the posts of three other students. Write three comments.

So far, all the books we have read in class are about our American history, and they all share the same theme: change in individual people and general ideas, and change in our American society. Overall, our books differ in perspective, time, situation, and conflict. I've learned how to pay attention to the different techniques author's use in their writing, and how to identify and analyze what the message the author is trying to get across with his/her writing. I would like to know more about poetry and the different types so I could also try to become a better poetry writer.
